Have you ever wondered how would a city look like from above? Have you ever questioned how it would make you feel to be watching your surroundings from an altitude? Well, I did. That’s why I decided to escape a little while to what is considered to be one of Frankfurt’s tallest building: The Main Tower.
It was earlier this March that I decided to experience a different kind of activity; challenging my fear of height and allowing the peace of the panoramic view in front of me, rip every fearful feeling away from me. Heading to the Main Tower was a good start as it is actually 240 meters tall, as the antenna is part of it too.
If you do not reside in Frankfurt, there are several routes that can lead you to the main tower. I personally used the subway, and I got out at the Taunusanlage stop. I did love the architectural details of that subway and couldn’t resist taking pictures of it. Tell me what these neon light make you think of.
Although that subway looks like a place you could have fun, you may still want to head outside. You’ll be amazed to see what awaits you.
Beautiful streets, breathtaking architecture and skyscrapers all piled quite next to each other. The main tower is located at the: Neue Mainzer Straße 52-58. You cannot get lost once out of the subway. A friendly local can direct you to better find the street. It’s 5 minutes by walk to the subway station.
The building is very modern and very attractive as it looks it’s made with glass. Quite impressive. When entering you’ll be struck by this gigantic logo on the wall. Readable, but I have no clue of what it actually means.
The customer service wasn’t the best since I waited a little while till the ladies there were done talking. Entrance fee: 7.50 euros for adults. However, students in Germany actually have a discount and pay 5 euros.
Once your tickets are handed to you, you’re been controlled as if you are boarding a plane: Both your bag and you are checked. Afterward, you get to scan your ticket and you can board in the main tower fast elevator. Panoramic view, here I come!
The weather was not at its best but I chose to not allow that ruin my experience. If you are not afraid of height and if you love photography, then you’ll love hanging up there.
I have enjoyed that escape and loved the view from there. I will be returning for sure, and will be coming with better, and less moody pictures!
That is it, blissful people! I hope you’ve enjoyed the post. Drop me a comment and Keep up with my adventures by subscribing to my email list, and by following me on facebook, instagram, twitter, pinterest & bloglovin!
